On Monday 21st November 2016 my 36 year-old wife had an ultrasound and mammogram of a breast lump which had been increasing in size during the last few months as she breastfed our second child. On Wednesday the 23rd she had a biopsy of the mass and an FNA (fine needle aspiration) of the axillary (underarm) lymph node. On Thursday the 24th we were told she had invasive carcinoma. On Friday the 25th we learned that the lymph node was positive for cancerous cells.

This is the story of our family, from my perspective. It’s ultimately my wife’s experience, and I do not speak for her. This is me processing, trying to find the narrative of this stage in our life, and to follow it to its end, wherever that may be.
